Newspaper ads of the era show that this version of Ideal's Shirley Temple doll was being sold as late as 1942, when Shirley made her comeback after a brief retirement from films.This lovely make-up Shirley has the same beautiful, high eyeshadow coloring of the Shirleys after 1937, reddish mohair wig, coarse organdy dotted Swiss pleated party frock in a slightly longer length, white oilcloth cut-out tie shoes and oversized hairbow to imitate the Shirley hair ribbon styles sold in the mid-to-late 1930s. She is 18 inches tall, has a sash which matches her hairbow and wears her original pin. |
